Aptis is British Council’s modern and flexible English assessment system based on the CEFR, designed to meet the diverse needs of organisations and individuals around the world. Aptis can be used by organisations and institutions to benchmark the English language levels of their employees, potential employees, students or teachers.
Testing English levels from A1-C2 on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, Aptis is an English test for adults (16+) which can be used to assess ability in all four English skills – speaking, listening, reading and writing.
Aptis was developed by the British Council, an organisation with more than 80 years' experience in language teaching and assessment. Aptis has been delivered in 85 countries around the world and more than 250 000 tests have been taken.
